Born in Cuba, Lia is fully bilingual with Spanish as her first language. Her multicultural background and language skills allow her to connect deeply with a diverse range of clients, ensuring that they feel understood and supported throughout their legal journeys.

Lia’s academic and professional path reflects her determination and drive. Initially drawn to the field of medicine, she shifted her focus after taking a college elective that sparked her interest in law. This pivotal moment led her to pursue a degree in English Literature, laying the foundation for her legal career. Balancing work and academics, Lia worked full-time while completing her undergraduate studies, demonstrating her strong work ethic and commitment.

Before attending law school, Lia gained invaluable real-world experience in the legal field. She spent two years as a paralegal, including one year specializing in personal injury cases. Her time in this role solidified her understanding of the intricacies of client care and case preparation. Additionally, Lia worked as a certified court reporter for two years, frequently attending proceedings, many of which involved personal injury cases. These experiences gave her a unique perspective on courtroom dynamics and further fueled her passion for advocating on behalf of others.

Beyond her professional achievements, Lia is deeply committed to giving back to her community. She became a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters immediately after completing her undergraduate degree and continues to be actively involved in the program. This role has not only allowed her to make a positive impact on young lives but has also reinforced her dedication to pursuing a career centered on helping others.

Lia earned her law degree from St. Thomas University School of Law, where she embraced opportunities to deepen her knowledge and skills. She served as a guardian ad litem, advocating for the best interests of children in legal proceedings. She also earned a certificate in Elder Law, showcasing her dedication to serving vulnerable populations. During law school, Lia interned at a personal injury law firm, further honing her expertise in this area of practice.

Today, Lia brings her diverse background and wealth of experience to Demand the Limits, where she serves as a trusted advocate for clients. Her journey is a testament to her resilience, passion, and unwavering commitment to making a difference in people’s lives.
